Our story begins back in 2012!
After nearly four years of attending high school together (and never meeting), during our Senior year, Shane and I had not one, not two, but three classes together! All of which placed us next to one another thanks to alphabetical seating charts - and so, we met!
Shortly after, we shared a laughable first dance at our Senior Fall Formal, but we actually give the credit for this 10-year relationship to our Senior Year English teacher. For the sake of the story, let's call her Molly Goodward. Mrs. Goodward played match-maker and made it a point to send us on unnecessary school errands together. We knew what she was doing, but for obvious reasons - we went along with it!
After I performed in our Senior year talent show, Shane asked me out on my favorite kind of date, ice cream! We have a running joke about when we first became "boyfriend and girlfriend" because Shane asked me if I, "wanted to put a tag on it?" .... Huh!?
It worked, the rest is history! Our journey took us to separate colleges, Shane to James Madison University and me to Penn State University. After 4 years of long-distance and love letters, we said, "eh what's a few more!"
Shane began working in Philadelphia, and I began working in New York City.
In 2018, we moved into our first apartment together in our beloved, Hoboken - where we lived all the way up until the YES day!
On October 17, 2020, Shane proposed in my happiest of places, a Pumpkin Patch in the middle of fall! It was perfect in every way.
What a ride it's been so far, we are so thankful for all of these chapters in our lives, the friends we've made along the way, and our families who have been there through it all. We couldn't be more excited to see what our marriage chapter has in store!
